Bharatiya Janata Party leader General B C Khanduri, who is likely to be the next chief minister of Uttarakhand, shows a victory sign at his residence in New Delhi on February 27.
The BJP nudged the Congress out of power in Uttarakhand, but fell short of a majority by just one seat in the 70-member Assembly. It is set to form the new government by possibly taking help from the Uttarakhand Kranti Dal and some independents.
The BJP won in 34 of the 69 constituencies where elections were held, while Congress bagged only 21 seats.
