There's little left to say about Britney Jean Spears that hasn't already been splashed on front pages before.

The 26-year old American pop star has given the press so much to talk about, that some magazines really ought to give her a share of their profits.

While Spears has tasted much success on the professional front, starting with her massive debut album Baby One More Time in 1999, it's her personal life that has overshadowed all of her many achievements.

First came a controversial photo-shoot for Rolling Stone in 1999, then a marriage that lasted a mere 55 hours, with her childhood friend Jason Alexander. She followed this with an engagement and subsequent marriage to back-up dancer Kevin Federline, three months after meeting him. That Federline was expecting a second child with a former girlfriend at the time didn't help.

The marriage ended two years later, which is when Britney's troubles really began. Now the mother of two children, she began to come across as increasingly erratic -- she attacked the paparazzi, ran into a few vehicles, was photographed without lingerie, and publicly refused to relinquish custody of her children.

She may lead to a lot more headlines in the months to come, but we hope they're for her comeback as a respected artiste this time.
