Insight 4: Me, myself, my missed opportunity

Yes, we know your CV is a document about you. But must it reek of self-centredness?

It would if it's high on the 'I' factor. So, instead of saying 'I handled a team of 10 people in XYZ Ltd' and 'I set up a new division for the company', say 'Handled a team of ten in XYZ Ltd and set up a new division for the company'.

Do this throughout your CV and see the difference it makes to readability.

Detach yourself and write your CV as if it's about a faceless, nameless person you know very well. Sounds tough, but try it.

P S: A cover letter can be written in first person, without the overkill, of course.
