Insight 5: Don't be a person of few words
Okay, so what you're doing in your new job isn't very different from what you did in your previous one. Does that mean your CV should be a copy-paste job through and through?
No! Find new ways to write the same thing. New words, new styles, new sentence structure... give it all you can find. If one word appears more than five times in your two-page CV, it's time to invest in a good thesaurus.
However, rewriting sentences does not mean they should become convoluted brain twisters. One thing can be written in two simple formats. Our English teacher told us so. At the same time, remember to maintain consistency throughout your CV.
"Many people mention turnovers in dollars in some places and rupees in others. It reads badly," says Seth.
Now, go make those changes before sending across your CV to your dream employer.
