Don't advertise you were fired, but don't lie
Unless specifically asked in the job application, you need not mention that you were fired in your resume or in your cover letter.
Make sure your cover letter addresses the position you are applying for and explains why and how you are qualified for it.
In the interview, you will be surely be asked why you left your last job.
Kavitha, an HR professional, says HR personnel are trained to probe into the reasons why you left your previous company. If your reasons are nto satisfactory, you can be rejected.
It is better to tell the truth. Do not lie. It is quite possible a prospective employer will crosscheck with your previous office.
If you got fired due to a merger or restructuring, stress it was not your fault.
If you got fired because you did not get along with your boss, say, "We couldn't work together," rather than "he was impossible to work with."
Or you can say, "I didn't have a clear understanding of what they expected" rather than "they didn't tell me what their expectations were."
This way, you accept both sides were at fault rather than just passing the buck.
