Don't badmouth your last company

"When prospective employees badmouth their previous employers, it does create a bad impression because you wonder if they will do the same to you somewhere down the line," says Sucharita.

It is a good idea to practise what you are going to say so you don't get too emotional or sound unrealistic. You have every right to be angry for being fired but leave that anger at home.

Focus on your skills and experience and why you are right for the job. Say you have learnt from being fired.

Getting fired does not make you a failure. Just because someone thought you were not doing a good job is no reason to believe you are worthless.

All judgements are subjective. Your next boss may go ga-ga over you.

Your attitude is what makes the difference between getting hired and being unemployed. Think positive and move on to a great future.
