'What we thought about Pakistan was wrong'

I had also heard about the Pakistani crowd throwing stones [at Indian players]. But our experience was totally different. What we thought about them was wrong. The public was extremely polite and good to us. All the people I met were great human beings.

I don't know the reason behind the kind of love the crowd showered on me. They must have liked the sixes I hit. It was really surprising to hear your name being chanted by the Pakistani crowd!

I was not a popular cricketer at all, and that was only my second international tour but the crowd went on chanting 'Balaji, Balaji.' I was really happy to hear them shout my name. All the Indians were encouraged by the Pakistani crowd; but yes, I got special encouragement from the gallery!
