The Magnificent March 1995-2005

Australia scored a 121-run victory over Sri Lanka in the third Test in Colombo to win the series 3-0 and hand the hosts with their first whitewash on home soil.

Shane Warne grabbed 26 wickets in the series, including four in the last session of play, but missed Courtney Walsh's mark of 519 by two. The 34-year-old, playing his first series since a 12-month drugs ban, was one of the chief architects of the triumph.

It also marked a special occasion for Ricky Ponting, who made his debut as captain in first Test of the series.

Australia had won the first Test by 197 runs and the second by 27.
