Jeeva, Mohanlal's buddy in Keerthichakra

July 6, 2006
What made you say 'Yes' to the project?

I jumped at the offer when I was told I was going to play a parallel character along with Mohanlal. The story was so interesting that I was literally shaken when I first heard it. My character was also very powerful. I always select a project based on the strength of the character. This role is a very challenging one.

What was working with Mohanlal -- considered one of India's best actors -- like?

I was nervous on the first day. Mohanlal is so versatile that I felt I would bungle my part opposite him. But he is such a sweet guy that he makes other actors very comfortable. He doesn't care about things like seniority, etc. and is very cool.

In the film, he plays a very reserved character. In real life, he is far from it. He is very friendly and jovial and I had a great time working with him. I discussed a lot of things with him, and also learnt a lot of technique from him. He is so casual, yet so focussed. I learnt how to use your body to convey the nature of the character.
