Commune with nature

Kodai Lake: The 60 acre lake has a five km esplanade around it. This artificial lake was built by a former collector of Madurai, Sir Vera Levinge in 1863 and stocked with fish. A boat club was formed in 1890, with a new one in 1910. However, boat services were opened to the public only in 1932.

Bear Shola Falls: Located two km away from the lake, the falls got its name from bears who used to quench their thirst from the top of the falls. The area is full of wooded.

Coalker's Walk: A magnificent view of the valley below the distant hills is visible from Coalker's walk, one km away from the lake. The area is at most times covered by mist obstructing the view. Constructed in 1872 by Lt Coaker, Periakulam can be spotted from here on a clear day. An entry fee is collected here.

Green Valley View: The deep valley gives a magnificent view of Vagai Dam. About 5.5 km from the lake, this place is also known as Suicide Point due to the steep slope and dense valley. Also watch out for monkeys here.

Pillar Rocks: Located 7.4 km from the lake, these two rocks stand at a height of 400 feet. A mini garden with a variety of flowers is yet another attraction.
