World Sports Awards Winner at the 1996 and 2000 Olympic Games and the 1997 World MTB Cross Country Champion. Paola Pezzo of Italy, the cross-country mountainbiking star, winner of the Woman's Extreme and Adventure Sports Award. The trophy presented at the World Sports Awards was cast in bronze and partially gilded, and was designed by famous sculptor Jos Pirkner from Lienz, Austria to honour the sportsmen and women.
