A Central Reserve Police Force driver allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with a service revolver in Baripada on Friday evening, police said.
P Anandan (40), a driver in the force who had joined the anti-Naxal camp at Saragada on Friday morning following his transfer from Rourkela, shot himself with the service revolver of a jawan, the sources said.
The reason behind the extreme step taken by Anandan, who hailed from Tamil Nadu, was yet to be ascertained.
He was believed to have been under stress, sources said adding, his body had been sent for post-mortem.
