A CRPF jawan committed suicide by shooting himself at a camp in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said on Friday.
Constable Parmesh Chore, deployed in the C-company of 122 battalion of CRPF, shot himself with his service rifle on Friday and got critically injured, they said. He was shifted to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
A departmental inquiry has been ordered into the incident to ascertain the cause of death, they said.
This is the third incident of suicide by a security force personnel in last 10 days.
A head constable of the same battalion committed suicide by shooting himself on December 24.
An army jawan shot himself dead on December 18 in a camp at Watlab in Sopore area of Baramulla district.
