Sonia Gandhi makes waves in UP

A cheer went up when the crowd spotted a helicopter. It landed in the Hindu College ground, which is close to the venue.
At 1.09 pm Sonia Gandhi arrived with Ashok Gehlot and Begum Noor Bano. Begum Noor Bano is a Congress working committee member and belongs to the family of the former Nawab of neighbouring Rampur.
The crowd started chanting Sonia Gandhi zindabad, Begum Noor Bano zindabad. Local Congress leader Bablu announced over the mike, "...people on the road, you have stood long enough in the shade, now please come into the venue to listen to Sonia Gandhi.'
