At the far end of the stage, six boys and six girls have been hired by a cigarette company to promote the brand.
Paid Rs 400 each, the college students dance for three hours each night in a separate enclosure, wearing identical colour coordinated clothes. Their job is to direct curious onlookers to different counters, egging them to buy a packet of cigarettes.
"Our job is fun. While everybody pays to come and dance, we are paid to dance," says Ankit Doshi, who often earns quick bucks by doing similar promotional events.
The venue also has several promotional stalls in an exhibition area -- showcasing and selling products as diverse as pampers to Pergo flooring and holiday packages to oxidised jewellery.
Interestingly, a well publicised skin care clinic has announced a daily special prize to the best backless choli-wearing woman.
