The name 'Winehouse' is, on hindsight, cruelly apt. Amy Jade Winehouse, a mere 25 years old, has already managed more bad press than stars three times her age. Her second album, Back to Black, may have won five Grammy Awards -- making her the first British singer to pull off that feat -- but it didn't affect her personal life much, if tabloids everywhere were to be believed.

First the star married her on-again, off-again boyfriend Blake Fielder-Civil in Florida, sometime in 2007. She then told the press she was violent towards her husband when under the influence of alcohol.

Interview after interview spoke of battles with depression, eating disorders, even self-harm. She cancelled shows with wilful abandon, leaving fans more concerned than angry. She was also hospitalised for good measure, thanks to an overdose of everything from alcohol to cocaine, heroin to ecstasy.

And no, things didn't get better. Photographs of a bruised and bloody Winehouse, with her husband, hit newspapers soon after. This was followed by more photographs of the star wandering the streets barefoot and scantily clad. There was also a leaked video circulated online, showing Amy smoking crack cocaine!
