Although she has long been one of the world's top models, Moss didn't reach that level of popularity overnight. She was part of the second wave of supermodels, following in the path of Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista and Christy Turlington.
She is no stranger to controversy either. Her waif look fuelled a lot of speculation about her health, in the past, as did her willingness to appear nude for a number of ads, justifying it as 'just work'.
The hullabaloo continued in 2005, when she began dating Pete Doherty, former lead singer of the band Libertines. Interestingly, and intriguingly, both have experienced the demise of former partners. Moss's two earlier boyfriends died of drug overdoses, while Doherty's girlfriend died of mysterious causes.
