British tabloids have now accused Moss of cocaine abuse. On September 15, 2005, a London daily, Mirror, ran front-page photographs of her allegedly snorting cocaine at a recording session with her boyfriend, Pete Doherty. On September 22, she issued a statement acknowledging that the allegations were true.
Within days, Moss began losing money. On September 20, the Swedish fashion retailer H&M dropped her for their advertising campaign, worth a reported £4 million a year. Chanel issued a similar statement a day later, as did United States-based cosmetics manufacturer, Rimmel.
Moss will now be questioned about her drug usage by police.
