100 YEARS YOUNG: From the end of 1999 Rolls-Royce assumed full control of the BMW Rolls-Royce joint venture aircraft engine company, which had facilities in Dahlewitz and Oberursel. This was renamed Rolls-Royce Deutschland.

In 1999, Rolls-Royce took full control of its oil and gas joint venture, Cooper Rolls, with the acquisition of the rotating compression equipment interests of Cooper Energy Services.

In the same year, Rolls-Royce also acquired Vickers plc for £546 million, transforming itself into a global leader in marine power systems, through the addition of the wide range of marine products and technology, primarily Ulstein and Kamewa, to the existing marine gas turbine business.

Today Rolls-Royce is a world leader in gas turbine technology for civil and defence aerospace, marine and energy propulsion engine systems.
