BUSINESS Blazing a trail at Cancun For India, the biggest trade event of 2003 was the World Trade Organisation's 5th trade ministerial meeting at Cancun. India forged an alliance on agricultural subsidies and emerged leader of the developing countries, which gained control of the WTO. The Cancun summit failed to take the Doha Development Agenda forward due to the intransigence of the European Union and the lack of interest of the United States.
