Sin 2. Getting married to your stock
Buy a stock or mutual fund. Decide that all your investment efforts are done with.
Close your eyes, fall into a deep sleep. Open them when you retire.
Is this what you do?
Wake up! Getting stuck with your investments for life and refusing to take a fresh look and reshuffle your portfolio is plain stupid.
The one thing that is good about fixed tenure investments (bonds, fixed deposits), is that they force you to get out after some time.
Fix yourself a return. If you make more than you expect, sell and exit.
Then, reinvest in another option. If you don't want to sell your shares or units, you can sell a portion of your investment.
