3. Revamp your wardrobe!
Resist the urge to splurge on too many new clothes.
~ First, try sorting out what you already have in consultation with your fashion mentor. Segregate your clothes into three categories as follows:
To be worn. Which means you can keep them because they are stylish enough.
To be altered. Which means by altering some aspect of the piece, it will still look stylish.
To be discarded. Which means you absolutely must get rid of them!
~ Get the clothes in the second category altered, and set out to shop with your fashion mentor.
~ Says Ashley, "Check out stores that house import surplus goods, where you can pick up very trendy and unique styles in trousers, skirts, shirts, etc, for as little as Rs 300."
~ Image consultant Meera Mittal suggests that, besides not wearing the right clothes, you may also not be mixing and matching your clothes correctly. So pay attention to this fact.
~ Experiment with new colours and cuts.
~ Makes sure what you buy matches with at least two or three garments that you own. Else, when you plan to wear your chic new trousers, you will have nothing to wear it with. So shop smart.
~ When you shop at a boutique or a multi-brand outlet, make sure the shop assistants show you as much variety as possible.
