Most career experts say you should see getting fired not as an end but as the beginning of new opportunities.

Introspect about your career. Were you happy at your previous job? Is there something else you always wanted to do?

Now is a good time to think about a career change if you think you need one.

It is more difficult to make a career change than find a job in the same industry, but it is better to struggle now than get fired again.

Even if it means settling for lower pay or a junior position, do not repeat the mistake of accepting a position you are not suited for. You will have to pay the price eventually.

"I got fired from my earlier job because I did not have the skills or the understanding of what my boss wanted. I opted for a lower level position in my next company. It's been a year now and my performance reviews have been good," says Meera Raman, a software professional.
