India won the sixth Asia Cup hockey title for the first time, beating Pakistan 4-2 in the final at the Bukit Jalil stadium in Kuala Lumpur.

Hockey Australia Men's Challenge - 2003
Published: May-June 2003
A three-nation tournament organised by Hockey Australia, features India, Australia and Pakistan. It will provide a testing ground for the Indian team before the Champions Trophy. Australia 'A' are the fourth team in the tournament, which will be played on a double leg, between May 31-June 8, 2003.

24th Men's Champions Trophy - 2002
Published: August-September 2002
The International Hockey Federation's most prestigious annual event. It features the world's six top-ranked teams competing in a round-robin format. The Netherlands won the event, defeating Germany.

10th Men's Hockey World Cup - 2002
Published: February-March 2002
Expectations were high for the Indian team after its juniors won the World Cup a year before. But the Indians fared badly, finishing 10th. Germany emerged on top, defeating Australia. The Netherlands and Korea placed second and third respectively.

Six Nation Invitational Hockey Tournament - 2002
Published: January 2002
Pakistan won the tournament which was billed as the run-up to the World Cup held in Kuala Lumpur. Australia, New Zealand, Netherlands, Japan and Malaysia were the other teams in the tournament.

1st Men's Challenge - 2001

A new tournament was started in 2001 to determine the sixth team for the prestigious Champions Trophy. India won the inaugral event to qualify for the Champions Trophy after six years.

23rd Men's Champions Trophy - 2001
Published: November 2001
Germany won the event held in Rotterdam, The Netherland, defeating Australia 2-1 in the finals.

7th Junior Men's World Cup - 2001
Published: October 2001
Indian juniors won the event.

10th Women's World Cup Hockey Qualifier - 2001
Published: September 2001
India finished seventh at the qualifiers and went on to play the play-off against United States. They failed to quailfy after losing the third match. The first first two matches ended in draw.

11th Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Tournament - 2001
Published: August 2001
India played badly in the tournament going down to Germany, Pakistan and Korea. They only won twice against England to finish fifth.

10th Men's World Cup Hockey Qualifier - 2001
