In a new twist to the Mehar Bhargava murder case, Sunny Rawat the man identified on Wednesday as having fired the fatal shot confessed to the killing on Thursday.
"Yes, I fired the shot... She (Mehar) called us dogs and threatened to use her connections to make life miserable for us. She said she would have the police lath charge us," Rawat said.
Rawat, who was arrested along with another youth - Sanjay Menon - shortly before an encounter with Sachin Pahari in Kaiserbagh area of the city on Wednesday, was presented at a news conference in Lucknow by the police.

The two were taken for identification to the Bhargava family house where Luv Bhargava's driver, Ganga Prasad, identified Rawat as having shot Mehar on February 28. Rawat, who was hooded for protection of identity, said Pahari and others had been given Rs 75,000 in another killing.
