A day after the nationwide search on senior government officials, Central Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday arrested B R Meena, Commissioner of Income Tax Tribunal, Mumbai.
Meena will be produced before a special court in Mumbai, CBI officials said.
CBI have registered a disproportionate assets case against Meena, an IRS officer of 1977 batch, and claimed to have recovered so far cash of Rs 16 lakh from his possession, sources said.

Meanwhile, as part of its nationwide anti-corruption drive, CBI sleuths recovered a total of Rs 3.5 crore during searches at 12 places in the city till early Saturday morning, sources said.
The CBI officials unearthed the amount in both cash as well as immovable properties during searches since Friday at the premises of government officials belonging to Customs, Excise, Bombay Port Trust and Oil and Natural Gas Commission, CBI Joint Director (Mumbai), S P Srivastava told PTI on Saturday.
"Based on some information, we will also search a few lockers belonging to these officials, on Monday," Srivastava said.
