The National Democratic Alliance's protests to prees for the removal of Goa Governor S C Jamir got off to a lacklustre start on Tuesday in the absence of senior leader Pramod Mahajan and former chief minister Manohar Parrikar.
Mahajan, who was scheduled to lead the protests, cancelled his plans at the last minute, party sources said.
They added that Parrikar is in Delhi for an NDA protest meeting with Bharatiya Janata Party president Lal Kishenchand Advani and other leaders.
The party, however, is going ahead with the legislators.
State unit president Rajendra Arlekar and north Goa Member of Parliament Sripad Naik have joined the demonstrations.
