When once was not enough

What do Sivaji Ganesan, Sanjeev Kumar, Madhuri Dixit and Kamal Haasan have in common?

Well, besides being actors, these talented performers belong to a unique club of those who have performed multiple characters in a single movie.

We use the term 'unique' because these actors have portrayed various unrelated characters in a movie. And no, Govinda's vague attempt to tickle the funny bone by appearing in six avatars in a scene from Manoj Agarwal's Hadh Kar Di Aapne doesn't count.

Ditto for Shakti Kapoor's seven characters -- including an army man, a ward boy and even a ghost -- in an early 1990s film titled Do Matwale (don't scratch your head if you don't remember this one).

However, there have been some genuine attempts, and the results have been quite satisfactory. Such films are few and far between, but the manner in which they have showcased the versatility of the actor starring in it, is unmatched.

Looking to make a foray into this club is Rahul Bose with his upcoming Maan Gaye Mughal-E-Azam. But more on that later. Let's check out those who have done it before.
