Urmila Matondkar, Shabana Azmi, Diana Hayden and Khalid Mohamed at a press conference in New Delhi to promote their new film, Tehzeeb.
Known to experiment with her looks and roles, Urmila Matondkar plays the title role in Khalid Mohamed's Tehzeeb. Calling it 'a volatile drama between two women,' Urmila says Tehzeeb 'is the kind of film you watch with a smile on your lips and leave the theatre with tears in your eyes.'
What makes Tehzeeb special is that it gives Urmila a chance to play Shabana Azmi's daughter after Shekhar Kapur's Masoom. "It is about a mother-daughter relationship. I play an angry young woman who has unresolved questions and issues. It is a light, emotional film," says the star of Bhoot and Pinjar.
Tehzeeb also stars Dia Mirza, Arjun Rampal with former beauty queens Namrata Shirodkar and Diana Hayden in special appearances.
