Rank 1: LG Xnote Notebook P1

Outstanding features: Widescreen displays have now become the defacto standard for laptops. LG, the Korean consumer giant, has recently introduced widescreen laptops for Indian markets.

Sporting an Intel Core Duo T2400 (1.83 Ghz) with 512Mb DDR2 RAM and 80Gb hard disk drive, the P1 also has a DVD burner and Fingerprint recognition as security option to protect your data.

A true multimedia workhorse, the P1 has a 5.1 channel support sound card that delivers great sound.

The laptop is Wi-Fi (WLAN) enabled and has an built-in modem. The P1 comes with Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition and Norton Antivirus protection.

Drawbacks: Though high on features, the P1 is slightly on the heavier side; it weighs 2.78 kg.

The final word: The Notebook PC range of laptops is decent value-for-money. It has a 1Gb RAM that can, however, be upgraded when you buy the P1.

Price: Rs 79,900
