Outstanding features: SAHARA Computers, a joint venture company between Sahara India Pariwar and Sahara Computers, South Africa, has recently introduced laptops that they hope will have a mass appeal.
One of them is the NB5610-L1, a laptop that is priced at par with a high-end desktop; it is powered by Intel Celeron M processor and 256Mb DDR RAM.
The LCD measures 14.1-inches and has a SIS M661 integrated graphics chipset. On the storage front, this laptop has a meagre 40Gb hard disk drive.
The NB5610-L1 also features a combo drive. To cut costs, Sahara has not provided WLAN, but it can be incorporated by just buying a Wi-Fi card. The NB5610-L1 comes with Linux as the Operating System.
Drawbacks: Low on memory, it does not come with Windows as a Operating System. Hence you need to spend a few thousands more on the same. Also, WLAN is absent.
The final word: If you are on the lookout for a desktop, then the NB5610-L1 provides a true 'value for money' performance.
Price: Rs 28,000
