Fast bowler Jerome Taylor rocked Zimbabwe with a four-wicket haul to bowl the West Indies to an emphatic victory in the second one-day international in St John's, Antigua on Sunday.

The home side won by 98 runs to take a 2-0 lead in the seven-match series.

The West Indies were restricted to 242 for nine after winning the toss and batting, but Taylor decided the match in a telling new-ball burst that left Zimbabwe reeling on 11 for three.

Zimbabwe never recovered, and they were dismissed for 144 in 46.2 overs despite a second successive half-century from Justice Chibhabha.

Bowling with pace and accuracy, Taylor, who took four for 24, had Piet Rinke caught by Dwayne Bravo at point for six in the fourth over.

Taylor then bowled Terrence Duffin for one and Brendan Taylor for nought with successive balls at the end of the sixth over.

Chibhabha followed his 55 of the previous day with an even more impressive 67 off 100 balls before edging a ball from fast bowler Ian Bradshaw to wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin.

Apart from a fourth-wicket partnership of 56 between Chibhabha and Elton Chigumbura, Zimbabwe offered little resistance.

Tawanda Mupariwa grabbed three wickets, including Brian Lara's, to help Zimbabwe hold the West Indies to a mediocre total. The fast bowler, who did not play in Saturday's opening match, took three for 46 from 10 overs and foiled a promising West Indian start.

Mupariwa was supported by medium pacers Chibhabha, who took two for 39, and Blessing Mahwire, with two for 58.

Opener Chris Gayle, who scored a measured 49 off 73 balls, and Ramnaresh Sarwan, with an impressive 55 off 60 balls, laid the foundation for a healthy West Indies total before Zimbabwe fought back.

Shivnarine Chanderpaul weighed in with 46 off 75 balls and Dwayne Smith tried to lift the tempo at the end by smashing three sixes in his 30, which came off 18 balls.

The West Indies lost seven wickets for 84 runs after Sarwan and Chanderpaul added 69 for the fourth wicket.

Mupariwa removed Runako Morton after an opening stand of 70 and later claimed Sarwan to a catch by Charles Coventry on the deep backward square boundary before dismissing Lara for five.

Lara, who batted at number six for the second successive match, took guard in the 38th over and faced just nine balls before he fell to a catch by Mahwire at square-leg.

The third match in the series will be played in Georgetown, Guyana on Saturday.
