'What we thought about Pakistan was wrong'

A little-known Tamil Nadu speedster went to Pakistan in 2004. Lakshmipathy Balaji came back a national hero, after playing a significant part in his team's historic victories. The Peshawar crowd even chorused the now-famous chant: 'Balaji zara dheere chalo..'

The star of the last India-Pak series is at home, nursing a back injury, when the new look Team India is bracing for the cold weather and the scorching fast bowling in Pakistan this time.

In conversation with Shobha Warrier, the man who bowled many a maiden over in Pakistan looks back on memorable moments across the border. Over to Balaji, right arm, over the wicket:
