arrow Craig Wishart was making a comeback to the Zimbabwe side after missing 25 matches. He last appeared against New Zealand at Nairobi on 9-10-2000, in the ICC Knockout tournament.

arrow Dion Ebrahim (42) recorded his highest ever score of his LOI career. Playing in his sixth match he bettered his previous best of 32 he made against India at Harare in the last match on 24-6-2001.

arrow The 87 run partnership between Ebrahim and Wishart was the best for the third wicket at this venue in LOIs. The pair bettered the previous best of 84 between the Bangladeshi pair of Javed Omar and Habibul Bashar against Zimbabwe on 11-4-2001.

arrow The last occasion Whittall scored a fifty-plus for Zimbabwe was against West Indies at Canterbury on 11-7-2000 in the Natwest series. Since then in 32 matches and innings his highest score was an unbeaten 36 which he had made against India at Sharjah on 22-10-2000. Before this innings he had aggregated just 526 runs at 17.53 runs per innings.

arrow Zaheer Khan's 4-42 was the best ever figures by an Indian bowler on Zimbabwean soil. The previous best was the 3-36 by Ajit Agarkar in the last match on 24-6-2001.

arrow For the second time in his career in 157 matches, Grant Flower has taken four wickets in a match. His best still remains as the 4-32 against Kenya at Dhaka on 23-3-1999. This means that it was his best bowling performance against a Test playing nation.
