New Zealand have recalled batsman Craig McMillan and specialist quick bowler Daryl Tuffey for their must-win World Cup Super Six game against India at Centurion on Friday.

Batsman Lou Vincent and bowling all-rounder Andre Adams were both axed after failing to impress in the 96-run defeat against Australia on Tuesday.

New Zealand must win to make certain of reaching the semi-finals. Australia, India and Kenya have already reached the last four.

Chairman of selectors Richard Hadlee said: "We have been very disappointed with Adams, especially with his death bowling, and, frankly, we question whether he's in the right frame of mind to be able to do the job for us tomorrow."

Adams has taken 10 wickets in the World Cup at 34.70 apiece. He took one for 46 against Australia and was bowled for a duck. Tuffey has played one game in the entire tournament.

Tuffey had an excellent Test series against India just before the World Cup, taking 13 wickets at 8.69 in a 2-0 whitewash.

McMillan, an attacking batsman, has looked out of sorts, averaging just 25. Vincent was recalled in his place to play Australia but only made seven. He has averaged 5.66 in three innings.

Team:

Stephen Fleming (captain), Craig McMillan, Nathan Astle, Scott Styris, Chris Cairns, Brendon McCullum, Jacob Oram, Chris Harris, Daniel Vettori, Shane Bond, Daryl Tuffey.
