The International Cricket Council Tuesday said the case of Shane Warne's positive dope test fell under the jurisdiction of the Australian Cricket Board and should be suitably dealt by it under its anti doping policy.

The ICC's doping policy applies only to tests taken during the ICC Cricket World Cup in South Africa, the game's world governing body said in a statement.

Warne's sample was taken on January 22 in Melbourne during the one-day tri-series. The positive result was conveyed to the cricketer Monday night after which Warne decided to head back home to sort out the issue before a drugs tribunal.

The Australian Board will be making an application to the ICC Technical Committee for a replacement.

Once this is received, a meeting of the committee will be convened to deal with the issue and take a decision.
