US visa application fees hiked

E-Mail this report to a friend

The United States Embassy today said that the visa application and issuance fees for all categories would change from August 14 following changes in the exchange rates. The fee in rupees will be calculated at the rate of Rs 46 to the dollar as against the current value of Rs 45.

The non-immigrant visa application fee will be Rs 2070 ($ 45), the non-immigrant visa issuance fee Rs 3,450 ($ 75), the immigrant visa application fee Rs 11,960 ($ 260), the immigrant visa issuance fee Rs 2990 ($ 65), and the returning residents fee Rs 2300 ($ 50), the embassy said in a press release.

The consular sections of the American embassy in New Delhi and the consulates in Madras, Bombay and Calcutta periodically alter the rupee payments for their consular application and issuance fees to bring them in line with the changing exchange rate. The fees in US dollars will remain unchanged, the release said.
