Serena to play Bangalore Open

Former world number one Serena Williams will play in the WTA Bangalore Open event in February, organisers said on Monday.

The 25-year-old American winner of seven grand slam singles titles has struggled due to injury and poor form since her Australian Open triumph in 2005 and has slipped to 95th

in the world rankings.
