FIFA Player of the Year
The Federation Internationale de Football Association awards will be announced on Monday, December 15, at the FIFA World Player Gala in Basle, Switzerland.
The FIFA World Player of the Year will be crowned that evening. The three men in the running are Thierry Henry, Ronaldo Luiz Nazario de Lima, and Zinedine Zidane.
A total of 142 coaches of men’s national teams were asked to vote in the men’s category for the Player of the Year. Each voting slip allowed the coaches to name their three top players, with a first-place nomination worth five points, and positions two and three rewarded with three points and one point, respectively.
