World Sports Awards She qualified for the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, decided not to go and watched the events on television. She returned to smash eight world records over the late spring and summer of 2000 in a span of eight weeks. She set world records in the 100-meters butterfly, 100-meters and 50-meters freestyle at the Sydney Olympics.
