The funds and weapons required to carry out terror strikes in India were provided by the Lashkar-e-Tayiba in Pakistan, revealed Khamruddin Nagori, brother of SIMI chief Safdar Nagori, during his interrogation at Indore in Madhya Pradesh.

This fact was confirmed by him during a narco-analysis test conducted at the Bangalore Forensic Laboratory in August.
Khamruddin Nagori was arrested in Indore along with his brother Safdar Nagori and 8 others earlier this year. Nagori's brother, during his interrogation, revealed details on how arms, ammunition and funds are transported into India from Pakistan.

He said that every consignment, required to carry out a terror strike in India, is routed into the country through Rajasthan from Pakistan. The consignment is then dumped at various locations in Jaipur and later distributed through various channels across the country.
The weapons are kept at a safe location and distributed a month before the actual operation is to be carried out.

However, of late with security being beefed up across the borders, SIMI had started using local help to raise funds for terror operations in the country, investigating agencies say.
The consignment coming in from across the borders had come down considerably and the directive is to use local help.
Nagori says they had been using the help of local businessmen for raising funds in India. Financial help also used to come in from persons settled abroad who supported the cause, the SIMI operative also said during the narco test.
While security agencies claim that several terror modules had been busted, Nagori says that SIMI have been on a recruitment spree since the past few years. He said that the directive was to recruit more youth and strengthen the outfit.
Indian Mujahideen threat is real
Investigating agencies point out that SIMI as of today is even capable of outsourcing men as their recruitment drives had been extremely aggressive in the past few years.
Nagori had been subject to a narco analysis test in Hyderabad too prior to the one in Bangalore. During that test he had revealed that SIMI had no plans of targeting the top BJP leadership. But he did say that right wing Hindu activists were on their radar.
He also took the name of an encounter specialist from Mumbai and said that the SIMI had plans to target him too.
