Goa Chief Minister Digamber Kamat is heading for a crisis with a group of ministers and legislators seeking change in leadership in wake of the recent charges against Goa Education Minister Atanasio Monserratte's elder son Rohit, who allegedly raped a minor German girl.

A group of ministers from the Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party met at Monseratte's residence on Wednesday night and drafted a memorandum to be submitted to Congress high command seeking a leadership change in the coastal state, sources said.

"There are more than 10 signatories on the memorandum and the number is increasing," a Congress minister told PTI.

Also, All-India Congress Comittee general secretary P Hariprasad confirmed that senior Congress leader Rajiv Shukla would be heading for Goa this afternoon.

"There has been a trouble between one of our coalition member and the police, hence Shukla is being sent to Goa," Hariprasad said.

The All India Congress Committee general secretary, however, refused to comment on the crisis looming large before the chief minister.

Meanwhile, when contacted Kamat said that he had no idea of any such revolt, adding that he would be not be disturbed if he has to leave the chair following the resent.

He, however, agreed that "the government was bound to face ramifications whenever such incidents are there."
