The Goa police on Monday launched a manhunt and issued fresh summons for Goa Education Minister Antanasio
Monserratte's son Rohit, who is wanted for the alleged rape of a German teenaged girl.
The police searched for Rohit at his residence at Taleigao in Panaji, but could not find him there.
Monserratte said the police had come searching for Rohit. "They had come. I told them that I will hand him over to the
police soon," Monserratte told PTI.
Police sources said the hunt was launched and fresh summons issued to Rohit after he failed to appear at the Calancute police station on Monday.
Rohit, along with Public Works Department Minister Churchill Alemao's nephew Warren, has been accused by the German girl's mother of raping her 14-year-old daughter.
The medical examination conducted on the girl has confirmed the rape.
She has also deposed before a judicial magistrate Mapusa in connection with the case.
Superintendent of Police (North) Vasco George declined to speak on the issue, stating that say he will make his statement in the high court.
The police have to file an additional affidavit before the Goa Bench of Bombay High Court on Tuesday
The court will hear the case on November 5.
