The crack team heading the probe into Friday's blasts in the IT capital is awaiting reports of the forensic experts to gather more clues into the series of explosions.

"The remnants of the explosives have been collected and sent to the forensic experts and we are waiting for their detailed report, which is expected shortly probably in two weeks time," a senior official of the team told PTI on Monday.

The explosive seized from Madiwala, which failed to go off, had provided clues on the nature of the explosives and the manner in which they had been assembled and designed to trigger.

The explosive failed to trigger due to a technical snag in the circuit, said another official.

"The explosives used were neither fully country-made nor were they highly sophisticated, they fell somewhere in between", said the official.

"We have some leads and trying to pursue them," said the sources, adding the possibility of Students Islamic Movement of India hand was also being closely examined.

The Bengaluru police are also collaborating with their counterparts in Gujarat. "We are sharing notes," he said.

Meanwhile, the police clarified that a man wearing a red T-shirt who the people suspected to have placed the unexploded bomb and was found running away, was in no way connected to the blast. He was just a passing pedestrian who was in a hurry to reach his destination, they said.

The police are also collecting information from the public.

"We have been receiving information from the people. We have been receiving calls of abandoned vehicles," police sources said.
