Shiv Sena MP Tukaram Renge-Patil who remained absent during trust vote in the Lok Sabha has been expelled from the party.
Shiv Sena Chief Bal Thackeray issued the expulsion order late Wednesday, saying Renge-Patil has been expelled from the party for his "anti party activities".
The Sena leadership felt that Renge-Patil had indirectly sided with Congress led UPA by remaining absent during the crucial trust vote, Sena sources said.
Meanwhile, the MP is still untraceable.
A section of party members have expressed shock over the absence of Renge from crucial vote of confidence, saying his absence was totally different as compared to the absence of other party MPs.
