The lone Nagaland People's Front parliamentarian Wangyuh Konyak on Tuesday indicated that he would vote in favour of the confidence motion in the Lok Sabha.
"I can confidently say that the government will win the trust vote," he told PTI.
Asked specifically whether he will vote in support of the trust motion, he refused to give a direct reply but said he did not put forward any demand to support the government.
Both NCP and BJP are the coalition partners in the Neiphiu Rio-led government in Nagaland.
Earlier, Konyak had said NCP chief and Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar and the BJP leadership have been seeking his support for their respective sides.
Meanwhile, BJP MP from Arunachal East Tapir Gao rejected reports of his switching over to Congress fold, but admitted that many Congress leaders had approached him to support the trust vote.
"Many of my Congress friends including the state chief minister had approached me for extending support to the government," he said.
"But I could not convince my soul. So I have decided to oppose the confidence motion," he told PTI.
The lone Lok Sabha member from Mizoram, Vanlalzawma of the ruling Mizo National Front (MNF), will abstain from voting on the confidence motion while Outer Manipur MP Mani Charenmei had indicated that he will vote in favour of the government.
