Rival absentees may ensure UPA trust vote win

As the trust vote boils down to the wire, parties opposing the United Progressive Alliance government are likely to have more problems.

The mood in the UPA is upbeat

Reports suggested that a Telugu Desam Party MP from Chittoor will defy the party's whip and vote in favour of the UPA government.

When contacted over phone TDP MP Adikesavalu told rediff.com, "I am going to Parliament. Let us see what will happen."

'Everyone is a suspected Judas'

When questioned about reports that suggested that he had decided to defy the whip and vote in favour of the UPA, he refused to comment.

Adikesavalu, a key TDP MP, had till Monday maintained that he would be voting against the UPA and would be abiding by the whip of his party.

Sources in Andhra Pradesh told rediff.com that there is likely to be cross voting among some of the MPs from the state as the political equations were changing.

The emergence of new parties has prompted some leaders to give a re-think to their political loyalties.

Even as news regarding confusion within the TDP breaks out, there seems to be some trouble in the BJP camp.

Two MPs from the BJP in Karnataka are likely to abstain from voting, according to reports.

Congress has never lost a trust vote

While Manjunath Kollur was not available for comment, his counterpart D C Shrikantappa is unlikely to make it to Parliament. When contacted over phone, his personal assistant told rediff.com, "Sir is taking rest at his native place as he is unwell."
