Amid the political storm over the Indo-US nuclear deal, senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader L K Advani met Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and Vishwa Hindu Parishad leaders at Jhinjhauli village, Haryana, on Wednesday night, party sources said on Friday.

Advani reached Sadhna Sathali of the Surya Foundation at Jhinjhauli village, about 25 km from Sonepat, at about 7.30 pm and remained there for three hours.

Advani met RSS chief K Sudarshan and VHP leaders Ashok Singhal and Pravin Togadia to discuss current political situation in the country. At least 15 top leaders of the RSS and the VHP were also present.

RSS leaders were tightlipped about the meeting but hinted that various issues which came up during the discussions included the Indo-US nuclear deal, calling of an emergency session of the Lok Sabha and possible mid-term polls.

The unscheduled visit of Advani created a panic among officials of various security agencies. A battalion of the Haryana Armed Police was rushed from Karnal to Jhinjhauli village.
