With an eye on the Karnataka elections, the Bhartiya Janata Party's Parliamentary board, which met at the party headquarters in New Delhi on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Rajnath Singh, has decided to postpone any decision on the Bihar issue.
"The parliamentary board would now meet after the Karnataka elections and take stock of the situation," Arun Jaitley, BJP in-charge for Karnataka said after the meeting.
Thirty two BJP MLAs out of 55 reached Delhi on Wednesday to express their resentment against the continuance of Sushil Modi as the deputy chief minister in the Nitish Kumar government. Twelve of the MLAs left Delhi for Patna after sensing the mood of the party top brass.
Kalraj Misra, Bihar BJP in-charge and the state unit president Raja Mohan Singh were also present. "We have taken the report from them and it would be discussed after the elections in Karnataka," Jaitley said.
Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha L K Advani, leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Jaswant Singh, and senior party leader Venkaiah Naidu were amongst those present at the meeting. Jaswant Singh and Venkaiah Naidu left the meeting before it concluded.
