Yeddyurappa declares assets worth Rs 1.82 cr

B S Yeddyurappa, the first chief minister from the Bharatiya Janata Party in south India is worth Rs 1.82 crore.

This was revealed in his affidavit, which was filed along with his nomination papers. Yeddyurappa who is the chief ministerial candidate of the BJP in Karnataka filed his nomination papers from his home constituency Shikaripura in Shimoga district.

According to Yeddyurappa's affidavit, the assets owned by him is worth Rs 1,82,30,033 while liabilities are Rs 2,59,326.

His affidavit further states that he has Rs 8,25,238 in bank deposits, Rs 1,88,655 in cash and an LIC bond which is worth Rs 2,04,000.

Yeddyurappa says that he has two cars which are worth Rs 9,90,000. Apart from this, he has agriculture land and four houses which are worth Rs 32,04,540 and Rs 1,05,20,273 respectively. He also states in his affidavit that he has borrowed Rs 3,59,326 from a bank in Bangalore.

Yeddyurappa is contesting the elections from Shikarupura for the six time in a row and this time he is fighting another former chief minister and leader of the Samajwadi Party S Bangarappa.

Earlier, there was speculation that Yeddyurappa may shift to a different constituency to avoid a straight fight with Bangarappa.

However, Yeddyurappa says that Shikaripura is his home constituency and he would fight the battle from here itself.
